Detailed Itinerary
06:00 AM – Departure from Nairobi
Your safari adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel or residence. We head northwest through the scenic highlands, stopping at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint for a few minutes to admire the expansive views of the valley floor and take photos.
09:30 AM – Arrival and First Game Drive
Upon arrival at the Lake Nakuru National Park gate, we begin our game drive immediately. We’ll start by driving toward the lakeshore to witness the spectacular birdlife. Depending on the season, you may see a “pink carpet” of flamingos feeding in the alkaline waters.
12:30 PM – Picnic or Lodge Lunch
We’ll head to a designated picnic site—often Baboon Cliff—to enjoy a packed lunch with a stunning view of the lake below. Alternatively, a hot lunch can be arranged at one of the lodges inside the park (Sarova Lion Hill or Lake Nakuru Lodge) upon request.
02:00 PM – Afternoon Game Tracking
We spend the afternoon exploring the park’s diverse habitats, from the rocky cliffs to the yellow-fever acacia woodlands. This is the best time to track the elusive leopard or find the massive white rhinos grazing in the open plains.
04:00 PM – Departure for Nairobi
After a final sweep of the park, we exit the gates and begin our journey back to the city.
07:00 PM – Drop-off
Arrive back in Nairobi in the early evening, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport.
